The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced English Teacher to deliver engaging and academically rigorous lessons across the Oxford curriculum, IGCSE, and A Level programmes. You will support students in developing strong English language and literature skills while preparing them effectively for internal assessments and external examinations.

Description

• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the Oxford curriculum, IGCSE, and A Level requirements
• Teach English Language and/or English Literature using engaging, student-centred, and academically rigorous approaches
• Prepare students effectively for IGCSE and A Level coursework, assessments, and external examinations
• Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, learning resources, and assessments in line with curriculum objectives
• Monitor, assess, and report on student progress and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement
• Differentiate teaching approaches to meet the learning needs and abilities of individual students
• Support students in developing strong reading, writing, analytical, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Collaborate with academic leaders and fellow teachers on curriculum planning, moderation, and school improvement initiatives
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and academically focused classroom environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, English Literature, Education, or a related field
• Recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent is highly preferred
• Strong experience teaching English at secondary school level within an international or recognised academic curriculum
• Previous experience teaching IGCSE and A Level English Language and/or English Literature is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of the Oxford curriculum and IGCSE/A Level curriculum standards, assessment requirements, and examination preparation
• Demonstrated ability to plan engaging lessons, assess student progress, and support strong academic outcomes
• Strong classroom management, communication, and student-engagement skills
• Passionate about English education and supporting students in developing analytical, writing, and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken English is required
